One PAIR of GoWesty-designed dual-rate FRONT coil springs for your 2WD Vanagon.

These springs are an exclusive GoWesty design. They are made right here in America by a leading automotive spring manufacturer that supplies many aftermarket companies. They feature an ultra-modern, hot wound (just like the OEM springs), dual-rate design based on the manufacturer's knowledge and our personal R&D over the past decade. They may look unusual, but they work. For the complete story on these springs, and a thorough explanation as to why they are the way to go, click here. For an informative response to the oft-asked question, "If I add lifting springs, do I have to install a longer shock?" click here.

Options—Now you have a decision to make: Do you choose the 2" lowering, ZERO lift springs, or the 1.5" lift springs?

2" LOWERING: These springs will lower a 1980-91 Vanagon 2WD Westfalia camper about 2", bringing it down to roughly the factory height of a Multi-Van weekender model that came with factory lowering springs. On a lighter hard-top Vanagon (or single/double cab truck), expect a drop of 1” at most, and quite possibly zero depending on the year and model. These springs ride a bit firmer than our +0" and +1.5" springs, but they still offer a comfortable ride - especially with our new bumpstops.

ZERO LIFT: These are designed as a direct replacement for all 1980-91 Vanagon 2WD Westfalia campers and will maintain your factory ride height. If you have the much lighter hard-top Vanagon (or single/double cab truck), you will see a slight suspension lift of up to 1.5". If you have an engine conversion that has a different weight or weight distribution—something other than the Vanagon water-boxer engine—your Vanagon may not sit level. These springs are NOT designed to compensate for Vanagons with engine conversions. If you need additional leveling, we offer spring pads (see the related items). Keep in mind that certain models of Vanagon (like the Carat) have factory lowering springs, and they sit 1.5" to 2" lower than standard camper models; thus, these zero lift springs will actually lift your vehicle about 1.5" to 2" overall!

1.5" LIFT: These springs will provide roughly a 1.5" suspension lift for all 1980-91 Vanagon 2WD Westfalia campers. If you have the much lighter hard-top Vanagon (or single/double cab truck), these springs will provide too much lift for your suspension geometry. Don't say we didn't warn you! If you have an engine conversion that has a different weight or weight distribution—something other than the Vanagon water-boxer engine—your Vanagon may not sit level. These springs are NOT designed to compensate for Vanagons with engine conversions. If you need additional leveling, we offer spring pads (see related items). This lifting spring set requires either our our billet aluminum Upper Ball Joint Spacer Kit or our Long-Pin Adjustable Upper Ball Joints for correct suspension geometry.

THESE ARE FRONT SPRINGS ONLY! Order rear springs here.

Installation & Fitment Notes
INSTALLATION NOTES: Does not require special tools to install. However, the installation of these springs is very difficult, even with a car hoist and all the correct tools. GoWesty recommends that a professional shop with alignment tools install these springs.

ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR LIFTING SPRINGS: If you have installed lifting springs (as opposed to our zero-lift springs), you must also install our Upper Ball Joint Spacer Kit or our Long-Pin Adjustable Upper Ball Joints and will need to have the front end re-aligned. It is important to note that our lifting springs will raise your Vanagon to its suspension limit—which means these springs are designed to get your vehicle as high as possible while still maintaining proper alignment specs. Each set of lifting springs comes with our ball joint spacer kit, which will help with your alignment. Please read this article for tips on correctly aligning your vehicle!

ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR 0" LIFT AND LOWERING SPRINGS: The difference in lengths between the spring being removed and the new GoWesty spring being installed IS NOT NECESSARILY the before/after resulting change in ride height once installed.

ADDITIONAL NOTE ON CV JOINTS: As the CV joints wear out, a wear pattern is created between the CV balls, inner, and outer races. Lifting your vehicle means the drive axles will now be riding at a different angle. Depending on how worn-out your axles are, this may cause a new vibration under load. The two remedies are to either replace the axles with a fresh set or rotate the CV joints so they are loaded in the opposite direction where there is little to no wear pattern to cause vibration. If your vehicle has identical axle lengths on left and right sides (not all models do), you can simply swap the axles left to right and the CVs will be loaded in the opposite direction. If the axles are not the same, the CV joints will have to be removed from the axles and moved to the opposite axle to achieve the same result. This is a good practice regardless of lifting as it will extend the life of your CV joints.

EDIT: *NOT* great for aggressive chewers!!! ☹️
Style: Two pack, Style: Two pack
UPDATE (previous 5⭐️): Yep. Things changed!! I take it alllll back!😩🤦🏼‍♀️ Here we are, just shy of a month and they’re both toast!!! The pics might not look like a big deal, but we tossed the orange one after finding the chewed off bits in his poop. The only reason I was able to take a pic of this blue one is because we couldn’t find it until now. However, the orange one looked the same when we tossed it, so I’m sure we’ll be finding blue bits in his poop. Not a fan of ANY chew toy he can actually end up eating!! I have PTSD from our last fur baby that suddenly decided he liked to swallow socks @ 11yo & ended up needing emergency surgery to the tune of ~$5K!🥴 These are crazy!! They’re super hard plastic, almost like glass. I wasn’t expecting that! My hubs was joking they’re for seggy time, not dogs! 🫣😂 We got a puppy in April that is an aggressive chewer. We’ve both had dogs most of our lives, but this aggressive chewing is new to both of us. Lil dude has chewed through a ton of other toys advertised for aggressive chewers- a few within just hours!! It’s wild!! We’re not used to it, but he loves his toys, so we keep trying to get him ones that will last! 😅 We only got this 2-pk yesterday morning, but he’s been obsessed & so far, so good! With how hard they are, I’m feeling very confident they’ll last longer than any other toy we’ve bought him!! I will update if anything changes!
