Holidays Records present a reissue of Maria Monti's Il Bestiario, originally released in 1974. Maria Monti's legendary Il Bestiario is a prime example of the avant-garde art-song of the 1970s. Known for her renderings of Italian popular songs, Maria Monti is an Italian singer and actress with a noteworthy career: cabaret singer in the '60s, ambitious avant-garde folk artist in the '70s, and starring in films by directors as such as Sergio Leone - Fistful Of Dynamite (1971) - and Bernardo Bertolucci - 1900 (1976). Il Bestiario is a near perfect emblem of the fascinating territory gained through collaboration. It enlisted the radical poet Aldo Braibanti as it's lyricist, features arrangements and synthesizer from Alvin Curran (Musica Elettronica Viva), the baritone saxophone of Roberto Laneri (Prima Materia), as well as the soprano saxophone of jazz legend Steve Lacy. The result is absolutely stunning, musically unique within the respective outputs of it's participants' long and noted careers. Unquestionably one of the most beautiful and neglected albums of it's decade. Comes with a 16-page booklet with lyrics and translations; Edition of 500.

A great collection, but fails to cast Black Panther as a superhero
There are some great things about this collection of stories: women are well represented in lead roles; backstories for Miles Morales, Steve Rogers, Carol Danvers, and Tony Stark; stories that incorporate Black men as role models; and the important role technology plays in many of the stories.
Now for our big disappointment. The Black Panther story is not about T'Challa becoming Black Panther, but more about Spider Man fighting Kraven, and once disarmed, Black Panther making him, "pay for the crimes [he has] committed against the animal kingdom," by delivering "the final blow." This did not sound like superhero/ role model behavior to us. I also found it strange that all the background characters in this story were white. That is not the New York city I know.

Overall, my son enjoys reading these stories and looking at the pictures. Though we will need to continue our search for a good Black Panther story, we are glad we bought this collection of stories, with the Miles Morales becoming Spider-Man story my son's new favorite.

Very cute
Very cute Winnie the Pooh bear. It has a rattle in it. I’m looking forward to giving this to my future grandbaby very original looking a very good price. It is soft and I think it’s perfect for little hands.

Definitely for a Baby
This little Pooh is as described and definitely for a baby. I had hoped to gift it to an adult but upon receipt, I realized while it is a lovely gift for a baby, it would not relate well for an adult. The ears crunch and there is a sweet rattle inside. It’s very soft and a baby would find it comforting.
