LP WHITE vinyl, Limited Edition Spot Gloss Sleeve. HTRK's seminal debut gets a new cut to white vinyl with white sleeve and gloss cover. An abrasive record shrouded in sonorous pulses, deafening feedback and tension-soaked reverb that immerses you deep into their world. HTRK's lo-fi post-punk, post-industrial noise-electronica echoes Suicide, Throbbing Gristle and Joy Division. 'Nostalgia' took inspiration from the sound and imagery of David Lynch, The Birthday Party and electronic artist Pita. Rowland S Howard's 'Teenage Snuff Film' was also cited as a big influence, HTRK notably caught the post-punk legend's attention with their live gigs which saw him endorse the band and go on to co-produce their next release 'Marry Me Tonight'. A compelling introductory statement that delves into their guilty nostalgia for the nihilistic energies rampant in the 80s underground. "An agitated haze of addictive ambivalence instead of the swagger and violence of their influences, the overall feeling is of beautiful disharmony" All Music..A1 - Hate Rock Trio A2 - Look What's Been Done A3 - Look Down The Line B1 - Look at That Girl B2 - Look At Her B3 - You Injured Me B4 - I'm All Broke Up

Wise Advice for the College-Bound Student
Format: Kindle
I read this book after reading Newport's other study guide How to Become a Straight A Student and was looking forward to more of his easy to understand, quickly read nuggets of wisdom. Although I found the advice in his previous book to be more helpful, I did fine some words of advice that I will surely put to use in my upcoming semester. Among the gems I found, Newport reminds students to "Study in Fifty-Minute Chunks" and "Learn to Listen." In these short chapters there are ideas to help the student better utilize their time by minimizing distractions and knowing exactly what to listen for in a lecture. By far my favorite and most memorable line from this book is "A good analogy is that writing is to a college student what shooting hoops is to a basketball player." Wise advice indeed. I would recommend this book to high school an college students alike. The chapters are short and jam packed with good advice.

Good for some
Format: Paperback
Good advice but it's written for college students that don't work. Not for someone who goes to night school like I do.

An excellent story well worth a read
Format: Kindle
This was so well written, I loved every second of it. It was a lovely take on vampires and what they are or can be. Spoilers: This wasn’t an easy read for me. How Miyako’s parents acted… that was my parents only worse in a lot of ways and only better in that they never hit me as an adolescent. So reading this brought up memories of the abuse I suffered. Even so, it is a really good story and I highly recommend. I hope to read more of her stories soon and follow Miyako and see how she and her family grow as characters.
