While the band has gone through a few lineup changes, Ssleeping Desiress has essentially remained the brainchild of San Francisco-based Gabriel Ramos, who is the sole member on this, the band's debut album. Following the great 2012 A Voice/Sister 7", this album runs along the boundaries between minimal synth, coldwave, and electro with lyrical themes of gentrification, coping with death, artistic drive and confusion, and the ephemeral nature of relationships. Ssleeping Desiress have appeared on numerous new new wave compilations since 2011, but this album takes the project to the next level, kicking off with an echoing voice over repetitive drums and outbursts of synths and guitars before slowly moving toward a more darkwave sound on the second half of the album. Ramos started making solo recordings while living in Portland, Oregon, around 2005. The DIY drive of the city and the live shows that he hosted at his house, often of friends' bands from San Francisco, led to a growing fascination and voracious consumption of music. Ramos recalls, "I can really trace it to the first time Spector Protector played at my house and getting a tape afterwards from one of the two members, Eric Davis. That and being freshly exposed to groups like Suicide and Arthur Russell was very inspirational to begin recording music on my own, though it is something I had done fairly aimlessly since high school. I make an effort and try and change my process as much as I can (usually through collaboration) and vary the instrumentation. I try and incorporate a late '70s punk vibe, a marriage of dub and krautrock repetition and cavernous space. Definitely not always successful but that is what is usually running through my head when I create music for this band." Mastered by Michael Romanowski. Graphic design by Luis Mendoza. Limited to 300 copies.

Ample
Good size and carrying options (strap, crossbody). Adequate compartments and hardware. I like the relatively neutral "green" color (there are 3 other options). All color options share the strap pattern; I find it OK but would prefer if the strap were the same color (solid) as the bag itself.

Love the vibrant straps, a cute everyday bag!
This shoulder handbag is a good value for the cost. Made of good quality materials. I especially like the silver rings for attaching the longer strap, and the silky material of the straps themselves is also nice. Inside there are several zippered pockets for your keys, pens, and other items. There is also a pocket for your cellphone. I use this bag for carrying my laptop back and forth to work, and I always feel very stylish when I am wearing it. The size is perfect for carrying a laptop or notebooks and books back and forth or for carrying on luggage on a plane. My one small complaint is the length of the sewn on straps is just slightly too short. I sometimes have to bend my arms more extremely to get them through the longer, sewn-on shoulder strap.

Heavy duty, thick tote bag.
This is a pretty heavy duty canvas bag. It’s a little smaller than it looked in the ad, but it does seem very strong and put together and I think it is waterproof or water resistant so that’s useful. I can definitely see this for shopping or just like out running errands, it’s got two sets of straps are nice. You can wear it multiple ways. The quality is pretty good. Better than a lot of the bags that I’ve been getting these through Amazon.

Pretty nice little bag
Color: Black
Wasn’t sure if I would like the size of the bag as I was planning on using it as my everyday purse. Pleasantly surprised by how much can fit in it. Definitely good for travel as it will hold what you need. I would only say that the strap would benefit from having a wire in it to prevent people from just cutting it off. Other than that, it is a nice looking bag. Good size. Seems to be well put together and sturdy. Note if you are on the bigger size, the strap might not fit around you. I do have to have it fully extended to fit properly. But it is comfortable to wear and the wide strap doesn’t put too much pressure on my shoulder.
I would buy again or at least from the same brand.

Can’t beat this purse/ bag
Color: Green
Nice, light weight and plenty of room for lots of stuff actually. Love the built-in card holders very convenient, durable, the locking features with the zippers, genius idea, and the green is so pretty if you’re looking for a smaller bag and everyday smaller bag that can hold all your crap (face it ladies we carry a lot of crap) this purse is absolutely beautiful and perfect. I’m actually thinking about getting one for all my work stuff instead of my backpack.
