Published to accompany the first US museum exhibition of the work of German-born Grete Stern and Argentinean Horacio Coppola, From Bauhaus to Buenos Aires explores the individual accomplishments and parallel developments of two of the foremost practitioners of avant-garde photography in Europe and Latin America. The book traces their artistic development from the late 1920s, when Stern established a pioneering commercial studio, ringl + pit, with her friend Ellen (Rosenberg) Auerbach, and Coppola began groundbreaking experimentations with photography in his native Argentina, to their joint studies at the Bauhaus and travels through Europe in the early 1930s, through the mid-1950s, by which time they had firmly established the foundations of modern photography in Buenos Aires. The couple effectively imported the lessons of the Bauhaus to Latin America, and revolutionized the practice of art and commercial photography on both sides of the Atlantic by introducing such innovative techniques as photomontage, embodied in Stern's protofeminist works for the women's journal Idilio, and through Coppola's experimental films and groundbreaking images for the photographic survey Buenos Aires 1936. Featuring a selection of newly translated original texts by Stern and Coppola, and essays by curators Roxana Marcoci and Sarah Meister and scholar Jodi Roberts, From Bauhaus to Buenos Aires is the first publication in English to examine the critical intersections that defined the notable careers of these two influential artists.Grete Stern (1904-99) began taking private classes with Walter Peterhans--soon to become head of photography at the Bauhaus--in Berlin in 1927. In Buenos Aires during the same period, Horacio Coppola (1906-2012) initiated his photographic experimentations and in 1929 founded the Buenos Aires Film Club to introduce foreign films to Argentine audiences. His burgeoning interest in new modes of photographic expression led him to the Bauhaus in 1932, where he met Stern and they began their joint history. Following the close of the Bauhaus in 1933, Stern and Coppola fled Germany and established themselves briefly in London before embarking for Buenos Aires in 1935. There they mounted an exhibition in the offices of the avant-garde literary magazine Sur, announcing the arrival of modern photography in Argentina.

Definitely would recommend
Color: Brown, Color: Brown
This bag had soft leather and looked just like the picture on the product page. There is the main compartment, two zippers and two slip pockets on the inside. I do like the bag, but I don’t usually like slip pockets because a lot of times when you’re just throwing things into the bag items might go into a slip pocket without you realizing it. I didn’t pay attention to this when I bought the bag, but I still really like it. On the back is a large compartment with a zipper. On the front is another large compartment with a zipper and a pocket with a magnetic snap. I bought the brownish color one and it’s really beautiful. I would definitely recommend it. It does come with two straps I am trying out the one they call Boho for now. It is very nice. The other one which I guess is leather also is much thinner.

STURDY, WELL MADE, AND ATTRACTIVE BUT..
Color: Coffee
The title say everything there is to say about this purse. I especially loved the two outside pockets that worked perfectly for my phone, keys etc. making them easily accessible.
Unfortunately the inside zipped compartment that many find useful was the bane of my life.. I could not remember whether I had put something inside the zipped pocket or on either side - and if so on which side.
Besides which all small things (lipstick, small pill case, etc) fell on their side and were very difficult to see and find in the black interior. I guess I am too used to a purse organizer (light colored) which has stiff pockets in which everything stands up vertically. All it takes is a glance to locate what you need..
I had to, almost regretfully, return this purse but lesson learned - only buy a purse minus middle pocket which leaves no room for an organizer.

It's a nice Crossbody bag.
Color: Coffee
The Iswee Soft Leather Cross Body Bag is a really nice Bag, and I love it. but, the front pocket has a Magnet that's supposed to keep it closed, but the Magnetic Closure doesn't work, therefore I can't use that pocket. I've taken it to a couple places to maybe have a new magnet put in, but they said they couldn't do it because of the cloth lining. I've not given up yet trying to find a place to fix or replace the magnet. Like I said, its a very nice bag, and I Love everything else about it. It has a lot of different pockets which is great. I'm using the front zipper pocket for phone key fob and phone. I do love all the pockets it has because I have a place for everything, and when I need something like my Inhaler, I know exactly where I can quickly get it. I also Love that it has 2 crossbody straps, but my favorite one is the, wide cloth one shown in the pictureof the bag, It's perfect for me! So I just recommend that if you buy one, make sure to check that front pockets magnets Closure to make sure it works. I truly hate that I can't use that pocket for my key fob and my phone as it would be so much better if I could. Other than that, I do recommend it, its the perfect bag and size for me and it's not heavy, and well made.. The leather is very nice too. The Only reason, I gave it 4 stars, is the front magnet doesn't work which is disappointing. Good luck with the magnet if you get one.

Gorgeous leather bag.
Color: Brown
This is a beautiful purse. Better than I expected and higher quality than many expensive, high brand bags I’ve looked at. The leather is awesome, so many pockets, love the pouch. On the front for my phone. Has a secure clasp and the hardware is perfect. I’ve been using the cloth woven handle, looks a little Southwestern. So glad I took a chance and ordered this bag! Do it, you won’t regret it.beautiful leather bag
