Erik Larson, New York Times bestselling author of Devil in the White City, delivers a remarkable story set during Hitler's rise to power.

The time is 1933, the place, Berlin, when William E. Dodd becomes America's first ambassador to Hitler's Nazi Germany in a year that proved to be a turning point in history.

A mild-mannered professor from Chicago, Dodd brings along his wife, son, and flamboyant daughter, Martha. At first Martha is entranced by the parties and pomp, and the handsome young men of the Third Reich with their infectious enthusiasm for restoring Germany to a position of world prominence. Enamored of the "New Germany," she has one affair after another, including with the suprisingly honorable first chief of the Gestapo, Rudolf Diels.

But as evidence of Jewish persecution mounts, confirmed by chilling first-person testimony, her father telegraphs his concerns to a largely indifferent State Department back home. Dodd watches with alarm as Jews are attacked, the press is censored, and drafts of frightening new laws begin to circulate. As that first year unfolds and the shadows deepen, the Dodds experience days full of excitement, intrigue, romance--and ultimately, horror, when a climactic spasm of violence and murder reveals Hitler's true character and ruthless ambition.

Suffused with the tense atmosphere of the period, and with unforgettable portraits of the bizarre G ring and the expectedly charming--yet wholly sinister--Goebbels, In the Garden of Beasts lends a stunning, eyewitness perspective on events as they unfold in real time, revealing an era of surprising nuance and complexity. The result is a dazzling, addictively readable work that speaks volumes about why the world did not recognize the grave threat posed by Hitler until Berlin, and Europe, were awash in blood and terror.

More than expected
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
Love, love and recommended to friends. Leaves my skin feeling and looking great. At 69 I don't expect miracles but can definitely see an improvement in texture, glow and line minimizing. I'm hooked and will never be without!

Micro-needling effect!
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
Love how you can feel the micro-needling effect. I use this is my first application after toning and follow up with my serum and moisturizing routine. I do believe it gives my face a plump feeling, especially after gua sha. Will continue to use in my daily!

Helps my moisturizer absorb better
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
I’m not quite sure if the product is fully working the way it is supposed to but I do like that when I use this and the apply moisturizer, it absorbs into my skin better and leaves my skin smoother and a lot less greasy. It’s easy to throw in my travel bag because of the size and you really only just need a little for each use so it goes a long way got the cost.

Amazing!
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
This makes my skin feel so smooth. The appearance of my skin also is starting to look a lot better/younger. I've been using it for a week and a half already seeing changes.

Brightens, doesn't firm
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
I've been using this for about a month now, every night on my face and neck, hoping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and tighten some of my skin in that area that seems to be losing elasticity. On my neck, I've honestly noticed no real difference in 4 weeks of continued, consistent daily use. The skin on my face does seem brighter and somewhat less textured than before, but I haven't noticed any change in the issues I was hoping this would resolve, based on the claims and how it was marketed. So... not a bad addition to my skincare, but not the solution I was looking for. Some have expressed concerns about it tingling or stinging... You can feel something when you apply it, it's almost like the feeling of static electricity, but it's very mild. I wouldn't let that stop you from giving it a try if you were concerned about it. It didn't cause my sensitive skin any breakouts or redness (although I was applying it at night before bed, so perhaps any redness was calmed overnight). I'm going to go ahead and finish the bottle, but based on these results, I probably won't repurchase.
