The dogears (rotating tabs) that come with the speakers themselves can only be used in ceiliings up to 33 mm thick. This kit is a package of 24 dogears which can be utilized to install up to 8 speakers (models with 3 per speaker), 6 speakers (models with 4 dogears), or 4 speakers
