Al zolang Kollaard in Zweden woont, vertelt hij vrienden in Nederland over de glorieuze Zweedse lente, over de ongelooflijke frisheid ervan, het licht, de kleur, en koestert hij het verlangen erover te schrijven. Bijna elk jaar begint hij aantekeningen te maken, eerst vlijtig, dag na dag, maar allengs minder, totdat de inspanning verdampt in de dingen die altijd urgenter lijken. Maar afgelopen jaar was hij vastbesloten: dit keer bewandelt en beschrijft hij de Zweedse lente. Tijdens zijn wandelingen stuit hij op schreeuwleeuweriken, onhandige fazanten, iets vinkerigs, iets spechterigs, en een duizelingwekkende hoeveelheid planten in bloei. Te midden van zo veel leven denkt Kollaard na over de dood, omhelsd door zo veel lichtheid schrijft hij over somberte, en chagrijnig door een sneeuwbui in april legt hij uit hoe je de natuur een zetje kunt geven – want ze komt niet vanzelf, die lente.

A no-brainer
They taste good, arrived in great shape with no bruises, pricing can't be beat, and were just on the verge of being at peak condition which is just what you would hope for....not green anymore but good for several days. What's not to like? Prompt delivery. I don't know how they do it but they did. Five stars earned.

Received a perfect bunch!

I hadn’t ordered bananas for about a month due to what I’d received in the past.
Personal preference? I want those lovely pale green ends! Please!!! I don’t like the flavor or even the change in scent that happens when bananas turn darker yellow, freckle - or worse? Turn brown. Yuck.
Each previous delivery, I hadn’t been able to eat more than 3 out of each bunch because of the already yellowed fruit received. I even tried the currently trendy recommendation of wrapping the individual stem ends in plastic wrap to help slow the ripening process.
Was very pleased to receive a bunch of 6 small sized bananas, all delicately green and completely beautiful!
Beautiful job by the thoughtful delivery person as well, who didn’t just leave the bags in the rain on the (only 2!) steps, but made sure they were under the protection of the porch and not blocking my door.
Some items I never order anymore (beloved snap peas and garnet potatoes are two examples) after receiving spoiled items - more than once.
Apparently notifying Amazon of our understandable disappointment, not to mention the waste! can sometimes improve the quality of items delivered.
