By means of metatarsal compression, the anterior arch of the foot is restored. The metatarsal pad transfers load to the metatarsal shafts, thus unloading pressure on the metatarsal heads. The opening in the base of the band enables the metatarsal pad to be removed or its height changed by an orthopedic technician.
