Discovering an ammonite of this calibre, completeness, and size, Asteroceras is a rare event. Add to this the completeness, preservation, and quality of the preparation of this uncommon specimen type exhibiting suture patterning, and excellent colours of calcite variations which have developed within the cephalopods shell and fossilised over millions of years, providing an interesting insight into the internal morphology of the species Asteroceras.
